FS: 77mm Canon Close-Up Lens

For sale is a new and never used 77mm Canon 500D Close-Up Lens, which is screwed on to the front of a lens like a filter. Per what I know only Canon and Nikon makes these high quality close-up lenses which are of dual elements and are thus designed to correct the image unlike single element close-up filters which are not at all same good.

"The 250D/500D series close-up lenses incorporates a double-element achromatic design for maximum optical performance. Thus they do not degrade optical performance like single element close-up filters do. The 500D is suited for lenses with a focal length anywhere from 70 to 300mm."

One use can be for macro photography, but another possible use is to reduce the near focus on tele lenses (which also reduces far focus from infinity to nearer. I purchased this one for use with the Mamiya 300mm APO tele lens in order to reduce the near focus for select situations, but it has ended up not being used. Time for sale!

I've got one of these and it is superb using it on a Nikon 80-200, 70-200 and even the 80-400 zooms to use in the field in place of a real macro lens. More convenient than a macro since the zoom is useable, except beyond just a few feet, and the the 2.8 of the 70/80-200 lenses, great subject isolation! This lens can't be beat!
