If you only knew ...
« on: January 31, 2011, 03:34:00 pm »

Meets this guy in a once full mining town, now pretty much empty. Had had stories ... bunch of them.

Comments and critique are much appreciated.

A splendid shot, Mihailo. He looks as if he's telling you one of his stories as you trip the shutter. Where's the mining town?

Very nice..
i like this bright light.
Perhaps with the color would not be so intensive and dramatic. Good decision to take a shot in b/w ;)

It's in Serbia. Called Resavica. Once a powerful mining center, now poor man's town. Thank's for comments.

Indeed a character; why do I think he's been waiting for a train that never comes?

Who would know ... unable or unwilling to adapt to changes. No one behind him.

May be, but he's still hangin' on...

I find the pose brilliant on a photo I would want to see.
The face of the old man just HAVE to be captured on "film".
Indeed well done.

Some critique if I may..
The black structure above the man's head is distracting.
A featureless wall above him would be great -- cloned fill perhaps?
The background bench on left bothers me only a bit.

Is the pole (top to bottom) curved because of the lens distortion or am I deceived by the small image?
If I am right, you can consider "bending" the pole straight.

All this is minor however to a great photo. So good of you to share it with us.

Greetings,
