Green concentrated haze on screen
« on: January 30, 2011, 09:30:04 pm »

Howdy!
I've had our Mitsubishi xl9u for about 3.5 years, it's developed a real nice green haze that is most noticeable on darker images or just a black screen. The reds are stronger as well. My bulb probably isn't even close to 3/4 to the hours of life expectantcy. I'm guessing I have an LCD out? If so, is that user replaceable?
Thanks for any info!

This happened to us on an old Mitsubishi (I forgot the model number).  I called projector people and they said it was due to something being messed up in the color prism.  If your's is LCD then this may not apply (I don't know anything about the technical parts of a projector).  But looking at the cost to fix, we ended up just going ahead and getting a new updated projector.
