Caution about Light Impressions
« on: January 30, 2011, 02:29:53 pm »

Hi all,

Light Impressions (on the web as lightimpressionsdirect.com) used to be a very reliable supplier of high quality supplies.

Last November 9th I ordered some mat boards from them to prepare for an exhibit I was putting together. I received an order confirmation by email immediately, and my credit card was charged on November 12. By November 29 I had received neither package nor shipping confirmation. Since then I have emailed them twice (no response) and called their Customer Service twice to cancel the order. I was told (eventually) that the credit would post by mid January, but it hasn't as of today (January 30). I have filed a protest with my credit card company today.

And just within the last couple of days there have appeared on the QuadTone RIP forum several similar tales of woe. Clearly they are having some kind of difficulty, which is too bad.

I just wanted to warn others who might be occasional purchasers from them. I will post an update if and when there are any further developments.

Oh, you aren't the only one. Alas their standard practice now appears to be to take your order, charge your card, then wait two months to ship just about anything. I've given up, and no longer order from them.
