My first cyanotypes!
« on: January 29, 2011, 09:18:57 pm »

I went over to a friend's house today to try my hand at making cyanotypes from digital negatives. I'm pretty happy with the results for a first attempt! Here's the best of the bunch:

The rest are in my blog entry at http://www.danecreekfolios.com/blog/2011/1/30/my-first-cyanotypes.html.

As we keep moving foreward in tech.  its always good to see some historical processes being brought back.  Being a person who collects historical photographs I applaud you.  T

Thanks Tim :) Cyanotype was fun, but I'm more used to doing lith prints (first from B&W negatives, now occasionally with digital negs). Check out http://www.danecreekfolios.com/blog/2010/10/17/a-digital-negative-lith-print.html for the same image done lith instead of cyanotype.

Wow that is beautiful.

I love Cyanotype printing, I learned in Australia - it was a fantastic place as the sun was always so strong! it's a bit harder here in England! Where did you get the chemicals from? I've not done it for a while.

I just used the chemicals my friend had :) I think he gets them from Bostik and Sullivan (http://www.bostick-sullivan.com/).
