Erick -

Thank you for posting a URL link. However, I'm not going to scroll through 10 pages to find whatever it is you're trying to say that I said.

I'm pretty sure I answered your statement that - again - doesn't seem to have anything to do with what I have been saying on the topic of future long exposure-capable products.

And I'm finished with wasting people's time having to read this, please and thank you.

If you'd like, PM me if you still require clarification.

Thank you,
Steve Hendrix

Without meaning to continue this silly debacle, I as an outsider totally understand what Mr Henrix is getting at and do not understand where the ambiguity comes from ? Clearly New digital back models are going to have new sensors, which history tells us can deliver the same noise characteristics (if not better) with the same or probably greater DR, whillst having more mega pixels, which is really a good thing. This mythical idea that "if only" Kodak or Dalsa will release a  full 645 frame 22MP sensor which does iso 6400 ?!!

True. With the IQ180 You can only do ISO3200 not ISO6400, and only at 20mp rather than 22mp.

But that camera does have an optional 80mp mode and has a load of great features, so I think that makes up for the 1 stop and 10% resolution difference from your "mythical idea" camera :-).

I asked for a phaseone FF  with 40 mp and that good screen and you saif it will never come

you said : But if you're asking for a small number of megapixels on a large sensor, that will never happen for quality reasons.  and I answered that in your opinion a P45+ has a small number of megapixels and the IQ is not good (of course a P45+ is not totaly a FF)

I dont see any difference between IQ1xx  and a P45+ except the screen  and the firmware

Sorry but that is not correct . After spending time with the IQ 180 last week there is not ONE thing in common with a P back at all. Everything inside the IQ backs is totally new and there is nothing from the P backs that has been carried over into the IQ backs . Completely different hardware by a long shot. Bottom line the IQ backs are totally NEW. The only thing in common is the P65 and P40 sensor ONLY can be used in the new IQ back. Now can they take a P45+ sensor over which is a Kodak sensor into the new IQ back, no one can answer that except Phase itself .

BTW I would not look at this as just a nice screen. After using the IQ setup it is far beyond that in functionality. It is really really nice

Like many of us.  We are looking for a straight comparison between the P45 to the P65 to the IQ180.  As a fine art landscape photographer who makes his money by selling exhibition images.  I want to see the resolution.  The back with retina display will be a hugh added feature since when we all switched from large format to medium we need the ability to truly focus and see where the depth of field is.  I hoping one of you will do this test.  T
