40mm HR W v. 43mm XL digitar v. 45mm apo-sironar on RL3d
« on: January 28, 2011, 10:47:28 pm »

I'm looking at 40ish lenses for use on the RL3d for stitching large panos on a 60+ back.  Resolution is reportedly highest with the smallest image circle.  Any comparative thoughts on the 40mm HR W (90mm circle) vs. 43 XL Digitar (110mm circle) vs the 45mm Apo-sironar digital (125mm).  I am particularly interested in the perceived sharpness in jumbo prints.
Thanks

the 40 HR shows distorsion
the 45 needs to be stop down to F11 F16... and his big brother the 55 is sharper... but quite a good lens with a 22mp back !
i will go with the 43...
