Help with a Sinar P2 Wide Carrier Frame
« on: January 26, 2011, 11:51:30 am »

Hi,
Is there anyone who uses a Wide Rear Carrier Frame on Sinar P2?
I've just bought one and now I see that it is not only thicker than the standard carrier frame, but also seats somewhat lower and to the right relatively to the front standard (that's normal, in order to put the asymmetric focus axes back in the sensor frame, now I reckon).
Probably I need to shift accordingly the front standard in order to re-align the standards.
Is there a workaround for this?

Plus, now I realize that my Flexadapter sliding back is too big for the lower sitting Wide Carrier Frame.
???

If you have some advises, please shoot ;)
Thierry,are you still with us?
Or maybe some other Sinar connoisseur?

Thanks in advance.
C.

I think that what you have is the 10 * 8 rear standard... what is the part number?

I can help, shift the front standard 24mm, and 24mm of fall. This will properly align the lens with the sensor.

Thanks, good to know.
Any workaround for mounting a chunkier sliding back adapter?
My Phase One Flexadapter is about 1cm larger. The only solution for now is to cut it into pieces ;)

That groove is for mounting small stuff like lens shades, etc. with the help of an accessory adapter. I have this accessory adapter, but I do not know the part number. The groove is found on top of all Sinar carriers.
