Need user guide to Use Flexbody with Digital Back (CF22)
« on: January 16, 2011, 04:24:30 pm »

I don't have the Cf-22 user manual. Need help to use it with the flexbody
What's the procedure to shoot flexbody with digital back?

I tried this:

1. remove digital back
2. Cock flexbody
3. Partial Fire the flexbody (to close the leaf shutter)
4. connect flash cable to the lens
5. turn on digital back
6. complete fire the flexbody(to open the leaf shutter)

What's wrong?

I don't get this. I used a Flexbody with a CF39 (as well as Leaf Aptus). It has been several years ago but this is how I recall I did it.

1) Connect back to Flexbody
2) Connect lens to Flexbody (already cocked other wise you cannot get it of or on)
3) Connect sync cable from lens to back
4) Start-up back and select the right camera in the backs menu (eg. view camera)
5) Fire the shutter.

I have had issues with timing (sync issues between lens & back) with the CF39 (none with the Leaf) but that was it. Remember to set the shutter speed in the back too when you go below a certain shutter speed (starting at 1/30th I believe).

As I said it has been a while but it is all pretty straight forward and should pose no problem.

Thanks, it seems much more straightforward than my thoughts.
I was worried that the back get overheated if it is attached while the lens leaf shutter is opened.
I'll give it a try.

I got mine from oversea, thru mail order, so basically no support at all.
Some more question,

1. what camera do you choose for flexbody?
On CF22, I have ELD, ELX, flash-sync. It seems ELX gives the fastest response (LCD display after shoot).

2. in setting/camera/display", is shows "INITIAL DELAY (default 2sec)" and  "continue (default 10sec)". What is this?
I set to "INITIAL 2s", and "continue 1s". but it always get back to default after I remove/re-attached the back.
What's the right setting, and How do I make it keep my setting?

3. What does it do with the shutter speed setting?
I want to set it to 32 sec (klongest) since it will be the super set of other setting (shortest is <1/8sec),
but what's the disadvantage if, say in the day shoot, that it only needs at mostm 1 sec?
