Remove ColorNavigator software before calibrating with i1Pro?
« on: January 14, 2011, 02:52:17 pm »

I would like to calibrate my workstation with the i1 Pro. The previous employee used the Color Navigator that came with the Eizo ColorEdge CG211. I would like to calibrate with the i1Pro and i1Match software that we have.
Do I need to completely remove any reference to the Color Navigator software before I begin?

Mac OS X 10.6.4
2x3GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
9GB 667 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM

Thanks,
J

Hi
I can't answer at your question but i am curious to know why you prefer to calibrate with Eye One Match instead of Color Navigator.
I have very good results with the same monitor and I feel more secure calibrating with Color Navigator and Eye 1 pro.
What is your experience?

I wonder the same thing; I think you would be better off using the ColorNavigator software. The CG211 has a 12-bit internal LUT for calibration, it would be a shame not to use it (the i1Match software will use the video-cards 8-bit LUT, not the Eizo's hardware LUT).

The ColorNavigator software can be used with the i1 spectro, no need to use the i1Match software just because you want to use your spectro.

I agree with George and Jeff. ColorNavigator does better job, I checked it on various Eizos I have.

I can only agree with the rest ColorNavigator would be the one to use on an Eizo monitor . That's what it was designed for and it does a great job .
