New Mount- Laminated canvas print on Dibond.
« on: January 08, 2011, 07:50:40 am »

Getting ready to be snowed in so thought I would add a few creative threads for those getting tired of "My nozzels are clogged".  :)
While I am still working on finding the right laminate for metallic paper I have found a great product for laminating canvas.
Seal's Print Guard UV Luster is a low temp laminate requiring a hot roll machine, but not a hotpress. Applies effortlessly and looks great  too.
Started with 3mm Dibond cut to size then applied the pressure sensative Print Mount Ultra. After leaving the print dry overnight It was laminated with the low temp Print Guard Lustre.
The print was then mounted to the dibond and trimmed. After attaching a hanging mount to the back it is ready for hanging. A black sharpie around the canvas edge will blend it nicely. Or just put a frame around it.
A tad on the shiny side for a lustre but really makes the image pop. I worked with the satin-matte a little and found it just does not enhance the image like the lustre product.
Just trying to fine tune a half dozen different mounts for new workshop content. Do not plan to replace the canvas spray laminating with this but it does have its place and gives a beautiful finish for those having problems with roll and spray laminating.
