Sounds nice, except, and it's a huge "except", it probably uses a tiny sensor.  Because of that, dynamic range and image quality probably won't be acceptable for most serious photographers.

1/2" sensor dimensions are 6.4 x 4.8 mm according to wikipedia, which means a small size sensor

The lens is a 4.2 - 126 mm or 24-720 mm equivalent in 35 mm terms, a crop factor of 5.7

I use a Fuji S1500FD as my 'walkaround camera'; I bought it originally because it was simple enough for my wife to use (for some inexplicable reason she cares not about f/stops, shutter speeds and the like).  It's not bad, MOST of the time.  I tried e-mailing Fuji technical support (once) about a problem I was having in macro mode, but gave up when I had to explain the operation of the camera to them.  I originally bought the next model up (S2000HD) but took it back after 2 hours because it had no aperture priority mode.  As for this new one, RAW would be nice; we'll have to wait and see!  Specs are a little skimpy at the moment.

This is the one that interests me: Leica V-Lux 2

Didn't search because I tought it was far bigger !!!

For me 1/2" is 12.7mm  ;) ;) ;)
