Wanted to share a first impressions report of the new 6060 film back for Rolleiflex / Sinar Hy6 and Leaf AFi cameras. It arrived 10 days ago and is really a nice piece of kit. Perfect fit, both in design and functions, with the Hy6 / AFi camera body. Functioning identical to the 4560 film backs for Hy6 / AFi. Apart from the film size, the difference is that this back is in one piece and connects directly to the camera body, while the 4560 back uses a Hy6 / AFi adaptor (as the latter back is also compatible with the Rolleiflex 600X systems with adaptor). It is truly "liberating" to work full-frame with the Hy6 's outstanding viewfinder and to get back those awesome square format images that makes them stand out from the mainstream. For the moment, production of the 6060 back is limited due to shortage of a number of parts coming from another company, hence there may be some delays for those having ordered it. But it was worth the wait. Some information, as well as the information sheet in PDF format, is available on my web pages for those interested.

Regarding the "webpage not found" issue, I just noticed my provider (iPowerWeb) has intermittent DNS resolution issues. Sorry about that. Please bear with me and check again later if needed.

I think it's http://66.96.132.54/ but that's not working either.

I've been thinking about this back, and let's just say that I don't miss film. At all.

. But the 6x6 square is really alluring. I've even looked into an EverSmart II Supreme film scanner. But I think going back to film, even for full 6x6 is not in the cards for me. But I'll try to keep an open mind.

Going square is one of the reasons I'm excited about the AFi-II 12 is being able to shoot 60MP square (albeit 40mm square rather than 56).

That's also why the square sensor sized Rollei DB20p (PhaseOne P20) back for the 6008 AF is still so great.

For that price you could pick up a really nice condition late-model Hasselblad 503 camera, with 80mm lens and a very modern film magazine, all-in. If you really wanted to shoot film, 6x6.

Jup, but you won´t be able to use the excellent Schneider and Zeiss lenses you already have and you loose autofocus, metering, automatic film winding, focus confirmation and all the other accessories one might have. And you have to lug arround a second camera system.
