Wide angle adapter for Sony DSC-F828?
« on: December 11, 2004, 06:35:33 pm »

Ill bet the problem is the objective (front) element isn't big enough. When I used my Sony DSC 700 several years ago I found I had to go to the Olympus E1 adapter because it was the only one with a rear opening that fit the 62mm scew-in mount but I was saddled with a very heavy (and expensive) add-on and whose magnification factor was only .8 - but it worked well with no vignetting. The bonus was I could fit it on my Maxxum 24-85 lens as well where there was some vignetting

Wide angle adapter for Sony DSC-F828?

I have tried the Kenko 0.75x adapter for the Sony DSC-F828 with very poor results. It gave bad vignetting at the widest setting (28mm) and considerable distortion especially at the edges when used tighter (~32-35mm). Has anyone had any success with wide-angle adapters for this model.

Thanks kindly,

Thanks Kenneth. I'm sure you're right about the objective lens. I don't know of any wide angle adapter that works on a 58mm filter thread and yet has a large enough objective lens to handle the FOV that 28mm gives.

Makes the KM A2 and A200 look attractive!
