epson R1900 - Black line down right side of 13 x 19 prints
« on: November 26, 2010, 06:30:45 pm »

Hi All,

I searched for this problem but no luck - All of a sudden I am getting a black line about 1/4" wide on the right side of my 13 x 19 prints.

It is about 1/8" from the edge of the actual image and 1/8" from the edge of the paper.  I have tried cleaning heads, resizing etc...no luck

Everything looks normal and appears to be working properly....any thoughts anyone ?....

regards,

Dennis

Printer serviced by Epson in June .....had no problems at all.. i moved it to dust and now the line...not sure if its related to moving it

Hi- I also suddenly have this problem on 5x7 prints- it first occurred right when I switched back to 5x7 prints from 8x10's. I tried color, B&W, prints I printed just days ago without problem...now there is this dark 1/8" line along the right side for vert or on top for horiz prints. I updated the driver, realigned printer head, restarted all, and no difference. I also notice that the image is not centered and not quite the stated size for length, unless the left border is included. The line does not show in print preview and image appears centered until printed. So...is this some kind of alignment or border problem?. I don't know what to do next...thoughts, anyone?

I am also having this problem printing our of Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom 3.  Printer worked perfectly a few weeks ago.  I have emailed Epson to see if they have a suggestion.

Same here - R2880 doing A3+ prints. Now suddendly there's a black line along one edge of the print. 1/8" wide, 1/8" from the edge and only adjacent to the actual picture area.

If I save a pdf (instead of sending to printer) from the Photoshop dialog box, the line is NOT present. Therefore seems like the printer is introducing the line... But how/why?

(Using Mac, 10.6.6, Photoshop CS3)

Any ideas?

Call Epson. Two different printers with the same exact problem ? Must be user issue.

I did get a response from Epson.  Cleaned and aligned heads.  Turned everything off and then on.  Printer is now working fine.

Ok - discovered this (the R2880 black line on A3+ prints and on a Mac)...

From within Photoshop in the 'Page Setup' dialog for the print I was doing, I had selected 'Format for: All printers' and my own custom A3+ settings. The reason for this is that A3+ was not in the 'Paper Size' options.

When I selected 'for the R2880' from the dropdown there were many more options available in the 'preset' list, including A3+. When I selectd this option the black line dissapeared.

Don't ask why or how - it just worked. No new cartridges, alignments, cleaning or anything else was involved.

Hope this may help others?
