Kuwait Bans DSLR Cameras In Public
« on: November 24, 2010, 11:44:28 am »

I just read about this today. I don't live in Kuwait and have no immediate plans to visit, but thought some of you might want/need to know.

I hope this law doesn't spread to other countries in the area that I might want to visit some day. :(

(Sorry if this topic has already been discussed before. The story came out a few days ago.)

Clearly, the Kuwaiti government wants us all to buy Leica M cameras or go back to the days of film.

Not a big deal, just use rangefinders or any of the new large sensor mirrorless cameras.  Or film.  Or TLRs.  Or view cameras.  Or pocket cameras.  Or well, you get the idea...

In case you haven't heard yet....
Despite being widely distributed the story is not true.
Here's a good summary.

Thanks; you beat me to it.  My mother always said, 'Believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see.'
