I don't know. The semi-gloss has a nicer texture in that it doesn't have that pebbly texture that luster has, which has always driven me away from the PL. For big things that isn't a major problem, but for 16x20 and smaller I just don't like that machine texture of PL, it looks so mechanical and industrial. If the Semi-Gloss has less oba that is new to me. If you compare the two under a daylight balanced proofing light the semi-gloss just has this very odd cyan hue to the base that I find ugly (not visible under tungsten). I assume that is why it never took off and became popular and demanded in rolls. The Hp Pro Satin rc has a perfect texture and great gamut and black point without that machine texture pebbling (perfect texture and no reflections as gloss media has). However, in fade tests it doesn't hold up as well as Epson Premium Luster due to oba burning out in the Pro Satin. In my experience there is yet to be a perfect rc semi-glosss media offered by anyone. I haven't tested the Moab or Canon media however. Apparently the Canon is holding up better in Aardenburg fade tests for the white base loosing its punch when exposed to uv light. It is worth testing the Canon rc to compare.
