How does Epson verify warranty dates
« on: November 07, 2010, 09:55:18 pm »

My friends 4880 just died. He doesn't recall ever seeing a warranty card. He bought it from B&H.

Is Epson informed by the seller when the printer is purchased so they know when the warranty begins/expires?

In the same package that the User Guide came in should be a warrantee card...the start of the warrantee is the date of purchase/date of delivery. Epson Pro here in the US is pretty good about dealing with issues...have your friend call.

Usually your receipt is considered the date for warranty repairs and you'll probably just need a copy of it to prove the date of purchase. I'd call Epson and start there.
