I us rthem when it's raining, snowing, or blowing sand or dust. Otherwise the only filter that I use is a polarizer, and occasionally split neutral density.

Absolutely, especially cheap ones. With good quality filters the difference may not be noticeable, but with cheap ones the difference is obvious, especially if you're using a good quality lens.

Michael,

I was just curious if you routinely use UV filters on all your lenses at all times to protect the lens?  Or do you leave the front exposed?

I recently read that using a UV filter on a Digital Camera can cause more problems with flare htan with film cameras.

Thanks.

Michael,

Is there any truth to the theory that UV filters can degrade the image quality?
