Stupid CS5 questions ?
« on: November 01, 2010, 08:10:26 pm »

Senior moment.. ;)

I've finally made the upgrade from CS3 to CS5 and have a couple of potentially stupid  ;D questions if anyone can help.

When using the healing brush in PS5 it shows a preview of the potential heal when you're moving the brush cursor around - I find it very distracting
and wonder is there any way of turning it off ?

The other change is that when I zoom in to 600% or more I get a white grid pattern amongst the pixels, any way of ditching it ?

Cheers if you can help.

Bring up the Clone Source panel and remove the checkmark where it says "Show Overlay".  One way to bring up the panel is Window>Clone Source if it isn't already visible.

If I were you though, I wouldn't give up right away on the overlay.  It takes some getting used to but can be VERY handy for aligning elements during Clone and Healing operations.  The Clone Source panel also allows you to adjust the opacity of the overlay if that helps.

View>Show>Pixel Grid toggles this off and on.
