Lightroom and PS workflow

...so easy in LRM to paint some Clarity into the picture in selected areas. I don't really know how to do that in PS.....

You just double click the smart object layer, and assuming you are using LR3/CS5 the smart object opens in ACR's interface, where you can paint in Clarity.
