Wilson's Phalarope
« on: October 24, 2010, 11:18:23 am »

I found this pretty little lady in Alberta during my drive across Canada this spring. She was having a field day feeding on all of the bugs on the surface of the pond. Great news for her...not so great for me as they were having a field day biting ME!!!

Camera Model: Canon EOS 7D
Shutter speed: 1/1000 sec
Aperture: 8
ISO: 200
Focal length: 500mm + 1.4x

So you were feeding the ducks yourself, albeit indirectly. Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase.

Nice shot, too.

Reminds me of when I was working in southern Saskatchewan in... well a couple of years ago.  Anything bigger than a mud puddle had a pair of ducks or grebes or... really got used to seeing that many waterfowl every day.
