Using projector profile for softproofing?
« on: October 21, 2010, 07:14:07 pm »

In my camera club, we profiled our projector/screen combo using our club's Win7 computer and a Colormunki.  We have what I would consider at least very good results in terms of color accuracy, white balance and neutral grayscale.

Is the profile also computer-dependent, or could somebody take a copy of the profile and use it in Photoshop on a different computer, the same as any printer/paper profile, to soft proof on the monitor and get an idea of how the image will look when projected?  People at X-Rite have indicated that it would not work because the specific computer/video card is part of the equation.

Thanks, Andrew.  Too bad, though...
