Dust Sensor Cleaning- Recommend KOH HEPA Jet II
« on: October 21, 2010, 08:22:51 am »

I posted this on another MF digital forum, but wanted to share here as well....

I can't recommend this product highly enough... I have been chasing dust on sensors for years and this does a ultra clean air blast without residues found in canned air. As most of us know usually a wet clean isn't needed.. just dust removal. Brushes can carry old dust and the traditional blowers just blow new dust as it pushes away the old. Cleaned my D700 in 30 seconds and P40+ in 20... not a speck in either LCC shot. Hope this helps some folks frustrated by the dust battle.

$31.74 shipped from KOH. .00165% the cost of a P40+ back... such a deal.

Does the filter fall off the bulb like the KOH HEPA Jet I? Defeats the purpose if it isn't
a closed system.

The filter has not fallen off my version 2 blower.  It is a re-designed product from version 1 which had a larger filter.  I would contact Koh and ask for a replacement.

I think it is the way the first one was designed. The bulb was just slip on. They must be
using adhesive now.
