Problems with Camera raw
« on: October 07, 2010, 07:54:46 am »

Hi,

When I open a photo in Camera Raw, colors are washed out and when they switch in photoshop they become stronger and different. I have a HP2475w monitor calibrated using spyder3elite tool. I was set the Color settings in Photoshop to the calibrated settings while the camera raw does not have that option. Otherwise, when the photos transferred from Canon DPP program, the colors are the same in DPP and Photoshop.
How can I solve this problem?

Thank you.

Check both the Color Settings for Photoshop (polices and the RGB working space set) AND the workflow options that configure the color space in ACR (looks like a web link at the bottom of the dialog).

Hi,
I don't think you should be setting your color settings for PS color space as a monitor profile, but that might be your problem. PS should be set to a color space, and the file should just be imported with a color space profile of Adobe RGB or Prophoto RGB (for images for printing) in the raw translator's workflow options, and be certain to allow files to be imported with the embedded color space in the PS color settings.
