A sampling of photographs I took at a small-town rodeo in Alberta this past August. I wasn't really planning to do anything with these as I arrived at the rodeo with a camera and single lens (Canon 40D + 100 mm Macro) and so I had a pretty large field of view as it was (I left my 70-200 zoom at home in Ontario). But on skimming through these in Lightroom, I saw some details within which looked promising to my eye.
So all of these are crops, some may be unconventional in how they were cropped (breaking some "rules"), and all were converted to black and white. Comments about the compositions and in the success or failure of the B&W conversion would be appreciated. I am only beginning with Lightroom and stumbled around with the B&W - it is to me not as intuitive as I was used to with Camera Raw so I still have some learning to do.
