I'm sure this is a very fundamental question but how would you crop a 2" section of a print in LR and print to a 4 x 6 sheet of paper? When i crop the image it doesn't give me any dimensions. i'm trying to experiment a bit with different print resolutions comparing them to the native resolution.

Do a little math. If you are planning to print at, say, 300 ppi, the crop has to be 600x600 pixels for a 2x2 inch print. The Info overlay can be set to show cropped dimensions

And if you don't want to add a crop to your image, you can make a virtual copy and crop it.

Y'know, this would be a very useful feature. Select a region of a photo and print it. Adobe, are you listening?
