Last week I rented a couple D4's and by attaching them to the laptop via USB cable we were able to control all settings via the Pro Air software, just like my D1's. Pretty cool except for the USB cable bit.
I just went to Profoto's site to look for updates, what with Photokina and all and noticed the D4 was no longer in the generator lineup... so I typed D4 into the query window and came up with
this
.
Sweet! These guys make such awesome gear!

Christopher,
Off topic, but viewed your video for Gensler/Chicago last night on ArchDaily. Very nice work, congrats!

Thank You Jamie. Actually there are some stills in that video that I lit with Profoto Strobes... there we're still on Topic!

Went to Photokina. D4r can be upgraded to D4air for roughly 500€.
the new Air software wil be posted on their Site within the next two week, much simpler and more straightforward than the mickey mouse software they had before.

Sweet! Though I love what the software does, the UI is, well... lacking.
Like why can you adjust the D4 with a slider but not the D1's?
