I do like them, quite original. I know the anti-crop police will jump on me for saying this, but both images would benefit from cropping to an 8x10 ratio, or perhaps even a square one.

I miss the fairy inside the bubble on the first picture.
Is it invisible?  ;)
I like the idea and prefer the first image of both.
I also believe you can do much more out of it.
So I'd be curious to see more experimenting with the soap.

I like them both, but #2 is a classically beautiful shot.

Thanks Slobodan..It's funny that you say that since I've been shooting these with my G10 (mostly at arm's length and running) which is that ratio. But for the last few years  I have been working  exclusively in 2:3 and just naturally cropped them that way. However I kind of like the space beneath the bubble in #2 with this ratio.

Thank-you Christoph..It does seem to have a magical feeling to it...Being somewhat OCD I am planning to do a lot more of these, they're fun and totally serendipitous. I have made a large pitcher of solution and am always looking for different opportunities, even when I should be doing other things.... ;D

Thanks pop...That is what attracted me to #2. To me it's very clean and simple and seems to have more to it because of that.

Nicely done!  Of course now that you've gotten started you'll have to go to http://www.klutz.com and get a 'Bubble Thing'.

Nicely done. Continue to work with this concept! You could put together a very interesting show of soap bubbles showing up against differing backgrounds. The first one is great. Do much the same at a field of flowers, at a public market, near a marina,  against fresh snow and so on. The combination makes for highly surreal combinations that seduces the viewer into appreciating heterogeneous elements combined by circumstance.

Definitely run with this idea for a  while

Blair, I find this last one great.

Because it helped me see something. A principle. You could really do magic with these bubbles:
To me the bubble looks like an alien spaceship, or a magical fairy bubble, or a brownie vessel, whatsever.
So - you have a sort of foreign observer or witness to things, once the bubble appears.
I believe, if you take common scenes, street shots and other with a bubble in them, you change the whole scene.

The last image could be just a simple shot of a dog and some stuff.
But the bubble changes it.
Why is the bubble there ?
What is it thinking about the dog?
What does the dog think about the bubble?

You opened a door !
Great stuff!

The subjective power of our minds:  I see a fairy creature putting her hand/wing to her mouth in the green plant just left of the bubble in the first image.  Quite a magical image.

Unfortunately, I also see an unpleasant connection between the dog and the bubble in the last image, making me wonder why you fed your dog soap.  ; )

You have a jolly peculiar mind, Sir!

However, now you've mentioned it, I can't get the thought out of my head. Damn.

Thank-you Christoph....My first evening shooting I was intrigued by the colours and the natural behaviour of them, as when I was a child.
Quickly it evolved into incorporating them with my surroundings then trying to create a story or feeling behind the shot. Basically
shooting blind and with an average of 15 seconds to compose, set exposure, focus and shoot (as I mentioned I was using my G10 with a wicked delay on the trigger) while the wind took the bubbles wherever was quite the endeavour and as I keep saying, fun ( as I'm sure Michael has found). Only the second shot was planned (somewhat). It's a great exercise with ever evolving  changes in light and perceptions. The bubbles can be anything you want really. I guess it depends on the relationship you assign to it's environment.
I like the dog shot because it portrays a sense of menace whereas the first one Fairy shot one seems more magical while the second sky shot, more alien.

Thanks Colorwave...That's what I mean by it's serendipitous nature. I was running with my camera at arm's length 3 inches off the ground trying to squeeze a shot off before the bubble broke or I ran into another tree. I didn't see the fairy creature in the shot until I got home....
As far as Jackson (the dog) he's fine...Way too smart to be biting into them....But come to think of it, what a shot that could be... ;D

Thanks for your encouragement and comments...I also urge anybody with some soap to go have some fun
Take Care

Blair, I say too that you need to/ should run with this idea. The options seem endless from what I can see.
