Nikon Remote Control Question
« on: September 12, 2010, 02:19:46 pm »

I have a Nikon remote control cord that works perfectly well with both my D700 and my D3x. However, I wanted to be able to go more than a couple of feet away, so I bought a connector to hook up to my pocket wizards. I noticed that with this arrangement the autofocus does not work!

I'm sure other people are using PW as remote triggers. How did you get around this (I mean, how did you get your auto focus back)? I'm thinking I have the wrong cable plugged in between the PW and the camera.

i do not know what a pocket wizard is.. but i use a third party wireless remote .

That works well - about 30 meters for sure. here ( The Netherlands )- it costs about 60 euro

it also is able to autofocus-( that I do not use)
