While Michael's away...
« on: September 11, 2010, 04:56:44 pm »

While Michael's away, the cats will play!  All in fun, but C&C always welcome.  I also promise to deep-six this post before Mr. Reichman returns.  The cat's already disappearing on its' own.

Enjoy,
Dale

Of course all Cat photos should be in the category "Yes, it is art!"

Here is my classic, which was the only non-human nude selected by Minor white for his show "Being Without Clothes" at M.I.T. in the late 1960s (also in an issue of Aperture).

My title: Hugo Levitational.

I once had a green-eyed cat, too.  Pity about the slight damage to the left paw.

¿When does Michael get back?

I had thought of posting this earlier, but knew the rules...

This is a slightly interesting snap-shot as you can change a *** from chocolate point to seal point by WB or adjusting the colour... and it looks more seal-point in the Jpeg you see.

200iso, 1/125, f5.0.

The focus seems to be nicely on the whiskers... This is a cropped image, and I think the face was in the middle of the original picture, but with the clever focusing of the H4D-60 I should be able to focus-and-recompose more accurately. ¿Who says there is no point in buying expensive cameras?

This is a shy animal, and I hope to get a better (uncropped) shot when I get the 300mm.

If I recall correctly, Michael said something like "no more than one cat picture per year." My photo was taken in about 1970, so that's my cat for 1970, and I can now get ready to post my 1971 photo, and then the 1972 one, and then...

So the Cat is out of the bag now and we should expect furry floods of kitty-porn!

A visitor to my neighbours backyard. It was lucky not to meet the two dogs who live there.

Good shots, folks.
But Mike: I expected you to include the Latin name of your subject. Something like "Pussus Domesticus Blackus?"

Felis domesticus then, with a high melanic content in the fur.

I'm glad I saved my 8x10" film holders. Now if I can figure out how to use them on my Canon 5D...
