LR 3.2, Epson 3800, Mac problem

I have an iMac pc, running MAC OS 10.5.8, an Epson 3800 printer and LR 3.2. The Colour Management part of the Print Module window is no longer visible so I cannot print. When I upgraded the Mac OS and loaded LR 3.0, the Colour Management part of the Print Module window indicated that the printer driver version would not work. I then downloaded updated 3800 print drivers (11733, 1735, 12786, & 13884 Epson's web site was not very clear as to which one was the correct one). That is when the Colour Management part of the Print Module window no longer displayed. Now what? Do I call Epson, Adobe or Apple for help? Or does anyone know what is the "correct" printer driver for Epson 3800 to download? reply to edward@amindseye.com Thanks.

This driver is the one to use: Macintosh OS X (v10.6 - 10.6.x) compatible, Intel-based Macs with OS X (v10.4.4 - v10.5.x), PowerPC Macs with OS X (v10.3.9 - v10.5.x0 epson12786.dmg - 38.7MB - posted on 18/09/08. I got that from the Canadian Epson site.

Make sure the Print Job pane is ticked in the Window drop down menu as shown here:

I loaded the 12786.dmg file, but I still have a problem. This is the screen I get for Print Module. There is no Colour Management window. And all print jobs stop.

So is this the correct Print Module window with the Layout selected? Or should there be a Colour Management window?

Sorry, I thought you meant the Print Module in Lightroom. Let's assume you have installed the Epson Driver in your Mac. In Lightroom select Page Set Up and the OSX Set Up dialogue box will appear - select Format For: EPSON Stylus Pro 3800 and select the Paper Size and Orientation. Still in Lightroom you shoul see the Print Module as shown here. Set it up as shown or alter it to suit your own settings. Click Print and the OSX Print Dialogue box will appear. Click to Print Settings and enter the appropriate configuration. I'm running Snow Leopard so it may look slightly different. Please let me know if you still need help. Sorry to go everything but I didn't understand the original question.

I meant to say that you have to add that printer in the OSX System Preference Printer box before it will show up. You've obviously done that. In the OSX Print Dialogue box click Print Settings and that should get you to where you want to be.

Looking at the screen shot you have supplied of the driver, it would seem that your driver has not been properly installed.  You should have a lot more options than those shown in your screen grab including Print Settings.  I have come across precisely the same problem as this when setting up my cousin's new 3800.  I suspect that there is a conflict earlier versions of an Epson driver and the one you have just installed.

You need to reinstall the driver again.  I would suggest that you delete the printer via System.  Then trash all existing drivers.  Whether or not this affects the 3800 I don't know but when I was having trouble with a 2100 driver, Epson support told me to trash all references to Epson from the Library/Receipts folder as well. So I would suggest that you do this.  Then do a repair disk permissions, restart, repair disk permissions again and install from scratch.

This should solve your problem.

Thanks for all the help. It took a bit of work, but all the correct printer drivers are loaded and I'm seeing the correct windows. Now to do some test printing to make sure everything looks good.
