Fair Isle
« on: September 04, 2010, 08:45:56 pm »

Hi all. Some images taken in Fair Isle in April this year. What a lovely place to visit, and one of the few opportunities to stay in a working lighthouse. Thanks for looking.

And not forgetting the puffins. What wee cuties.

All I see is a bunch of red squares that say "No hotlinks."

Not sure what's going on, so I've removed the hotlinks and uploaded the files. :)

Some good work there... thanks for sharing them.  And where exactly is Fair Isle, if I may ask?

Hi Mike. It's half way between Orkney and Shetland. You have to go via Shetland to get there. Half an hour by small plane or three hours by ferry. The ferry is just large enough to strap a car on the deck and feels like a cork in a big ocean, which I suppose it is. (Yes, I was seasick)

Great shots! I'm glad I came back to try this thread again.
Lovely moods. My favorites are the first two; the others are very nice too but more conventional.

Wow great photos! :) My favourite is the last one the seascape on. I just love the really dramatic sky and the water on the rocks.

David ,
Very good work. My mind sways back and forth between #3 and #4 although #1 is also very nice. Lovely puffins by the way, the light/framing on #2 is well chosen to give a dynamic photo.

Fabulous, luscious images, David. 410 (Lighthouse) is particuarly atmospheric.
