can't use mamiya afd III tethered with imacon 384c

I just mounted the back to a Mamiya AFD adapter and put it on a AFD III (actually the Phase One camera but that is supposed to be exactly the same) but somehow this does not work, i can not capture from the software, either Phocus or Flexcolor. the shutter does not work and all i get is a black speckled frame, multi shot does not work either. am I missing something here? works fine when i just take a picture with the camera

anyone using the same setup here?

I'm sure you've already done this but have you set the camera type into the 384c menu?

I'd really like to make this thing to work, I'm surprised nobody seems to know. Perhaps it's just the body that is too modern.....Is anyone using an AFD with Ixpress back who can confirm multishot/tethered shooting works? then I could find an AFD body use the Phase one for one shot exposures like portraits
