Just discovered that Peter Gowland, one of the leading glamour (in the old sense) photographers of his era, died on March 17 of this year.
A very early influence, may he rest in peace.

Truly one of the greats, especially when it comes to glamour and innovative cameras he built himself. I've heard from several people who knew him personally saying he was a true gentleman, and one of the most kind and helpful guys around. Here his
obituary on TOP

Indeed. I looked for a good 4x5 Gowlandflex for over a year on eBay, found one recently, and just today picked it from CLA, been playing with it all evening. I'll post pictures tomorrow. He also had some pocketable 4x5 (!) cameras. His widow is probably still selling the ones that are left on his
website
