A similar view of Dettifoss
« on: September 01, 2010, 02:57:38 pm »

I was on the Iceland trip with Josh-H and thought I'd post my interpretation of almost the identical time and location...

And of course it doesn't have to be a 30 second exposure...

Very nice. I can see bearded, agonised faces in the second one.

Well done, Tim!  And yes to the faces... and Alf.

Both of these are much better executions than the one in your previous post. I think I find #2 the more interesting. The long exposure/smooth water effect in #1 doesn't quite work for me. It almost looks like a torrent of Bailey's Irish Cream coming over the falls rather than water.

I'm not sure I'd have much of a problem with that, actually, although Bailey's is a bit sweet for my taste.

PS: who's Alf?

I like them both, but the color of the water in #1 seems awfully muddy. Perhaps it was chocolate syrup that day?

I like the first image the most. I get a feeling of intimacy with the water and the surroundings from it. The second one, to be honest, confuses me. But then again, I get confused easily.
