I am not fluent in cow, but I think Russ may have swore at you.

I think Russ is referring to mooning.

Wikipedia: Mooning is the act of displaying one's bare buttocks...... used mostly in the English-speaking world to express protest, scorn, disrespect, or provocation but can also simply be done for shock value or fun. Hope the latter was the intention. Otherwise, one would be a horse's ass!

Moooooo
Bovine is a tonal language that cannot be fully expressed with our limited alphabet... but I think the one on the left is thinking they had more important things to concern themselves with than the photographer, and the one on the right is thinking:

"If you are using 1/64th I had better stand still for you".

It is very much like a wedding picture - more contrast than the camera can handle.

Unfortunately Google Translate doesn't do bovine language, so I was unable to get any clarification of Russ's comment.

I doubt they could care less Dick. Cattle have an enviable ( for me) way of "just being." Oblivious to anything and everything around them.

If anyone is able to speak bovine I guess it should be me, having spent the last year with this herd at least two times a week. Problem is I can't even say hello yet. Damn difficult language to master..

Au contraire. They are not mooooving much at all

The one above could be titled “at the mall” ………….it reminds me of the crowded shopping mall I was obligated to visit recently. An endless collection of fat cows and few were moooooving very much and definitely not very fast!

Ground, hooves, and legs seemed the best part of both photos to me.  Place, pattern, connection, and weight what more do you need?     Bruce Cox

I like the second better, more rhythm and the colour works well because it's still quite constrained. The first I find too dark and tightly cropped.

I agree. The second one is a winner!

IMO the second one is the best.  It would also be better in B&W, better than the other two - which might be better in color.

Very old thread I know :)

Have some more of the Nguni cattle from the last few years which I can post here, instead of a new thread.
