I have a clean install of Snow Leopard on a Mac Pro running 5.6.6 captureshop as a test machine.
I am unable to select a CMYK profile either from the Color Setup, or the Export Spaces palette.
I have looked into the System/Library/ColorSync/Profiles folder and there is a generic CMYK profile in there, yet from CaptureShop I can not select it.
I have been running CaptureShop 5.6.3 on Leopard for a long time now and it works flawlessly.
What am I missing?

Thanks,

Scott

I'm sorry I cannot help you: I never transform my images into CMYK. It is the work of the photo-engraving and the printer, not that of the photographer. The result is the fruit of diverse determining factors (papers, ink, ...) which are not decided by me.

I am sorry for the inconvenience. This is an known issue that occurs specifically in combination with Snow Leopard. It will be fixed in the in an upcoming release of CaptureShop. I cannot tell for sure, if it will make it into the next release. But it will be in the near future.

Best Regards,
Martin

Hi Martin,

Will there be a time when IA files can be opened in third party programs?

I'm specifically referring to Adobe Camera Raw as I prefer the simplest solutions - I find Sinar software awkward and still use brumbaer tools as it gets me into photoshop quicker.

Kind regards,

Carl

Hi Carl,

I am sorry, this is not planned. Our goal is to create standard file formats so you are free to use software like Adobe Camera Raw. Our decision was to create DNGs.

Unfortunaltely the eMotion line cannot be changed to create DNG files directly in the back. You need to use Sinar software for download or, as you said, the brumbaer tools.

Please write me a personal message, what you find especially awkward with the Sinar software. Maybe I can give you a tip or maybe we can use your feedback to make the Sinar software more handy in future releases.

Kind regards,
Martin

I opened an .sti file in eXposure 7.0.5. Cannot find how to export to DNG.
Please advice.
Thanks

Hi Evgeny,

You have to drag the thumbnails of the files you want to convert from the contact sheet into another folder in the browser tab. Then you will see the import tab suddenly appear and the new files are created in the destination folder.

Hi evgeny,

currently, you can convert a .sti file in eXposure, as Ben wrote. With the upcoming release of CaptureShop you will also be able to convert your STI to DNG.

Thanks Ben and Martin.

That's a good news, because I can't use eXposure with 54H in 4-16-shoot mode.

Thanks

Will the DNG file retain the adjustments made to the original .sti file ?

Yes and no, concerning, how the question is meant. The DNG will contain all adjustments of the STI file, yes. But they will reside in the private data of the DNG and only CaptureShop can read them. In the future this might change and CaptureShop might write XMP meta data for compatible settings. But not all settings can be matched 1:1 from CaptureShop to XMP.

Hi Martin,

Would you mind explaining how to convert an .sti to .dng in Captureshop 5.6.6? I use a 54H back.

Thank you,
Natasha

At Photokina, Sinar announced the imminent release of a new program Captures Shop 6.0, exporting the sti files to DNG. Could multishoot images also be able to be exported to DNG is another question: I received from various representatives of Sinar conflicting advices ...

Announced the Kina, then for the end of the Kina, then after the Kina. We are still waiting.

This output option for DNG files with Capture Shop was previously announced as imminent for the 2006 Photokina !

Hi Natasha,

Sinar CaptureShop 6 will be available to the public very soon. With this you can simply open your contact sheet with the sti files. If you select an image and do a "save as", it is saved as DNG.

@PdF: I can tell you that, yes, the multishot images are also saved to DNG.
