Making an ICC in OS10.6 - Still an issue?
« on: August 16, 2010, 11:00:33 am »

Today I got a chance to test CS5 (v12.0.1) on WinXP SP3 and OS10.6.4.

Epson Stylus Pro3880 - Firmware P0079C
Win/Mac driver v6.60 (UK)

Settings: All CM off in CS5 and Drivers (Win & Mac).
PS set to 'Let printer manage colour'.

I’ve attached the data from my iSis.

Settings in PM5 5.0.10

•         Profile size – default
•         PRI – paper coloured gray
•         Gamut mapping – LOGO classic
•         Viewing – D50
•         Correct for OB – ON

There’s some clipping from L71 to L91 in the highlights on the Mac.

Swapping to ‘LOGO colourful’ on Mac give a full gamut.

Is this an improvement?

Edit: going through the 2D slice, the Mac and Win version are identical in terms of shape.

It's looking good, more testing shows tiny dE differences from the mac txt file to the win txt file.

Slight differences may be due to the CMM (Adobe ACE if used should match however). Even measuring the same target twice through the same Spectrophotometer provides some small deltaE differences (hopefully far less than 0.5 for an average).

Yep, two targets on different sheets plus the 0.4-0.6 of the iSis.

It’s looking like there’s no longer an issue. Seems to be fixed in CS5

good news for mac users?
