I don't have a 8300, but I do have a 6300 (as well as Epson 3880 & 4900). Both are excellent brands that are sure to please when use properly, but I do find that the Canon print plug in gives me more consistent results and is much easier to use. There's value in that. This consistency applies from Windows to Mac as well, so with the Canon Export Module / Print Plug-in, I feel confident that I'll get identical results no matter what I'm printing from - as long as I'm using the same profiles and settings.

Here's my thoughts on my iPF6300.

Disclosure - Canon and Epson both participated in my printing series and provided the products I reviewed. I also use HP LF's at work.
