I am considering converting all my NEF/RAW files to DNG. Doing some experimenting I moved a folder of previously edited (in LR) files and opened them in LR to mess with. Ran into a couple of problems:
1. Conversion didn't work on stacked images. Even though the top image (PSD) and the images in the stack (NEF) were not changed to DNG, the following happened!
2. Previous LR editing seems to have been incorporated into the master file. The master file has apparently been changed, and the previous edits are no longer available for re-editing. If true, this is obviously a deal killer for previously edited files.
3. Same thing happened to unstacked edited images. Were changed to DNG, but previous edits were incorporated into the master image file.
Anyone have experience with this? Maybe I'm missing something, but I have no idea what it could be.
