Refillable Cartridges / Inks

Just wondering how many of you guys use refillable cartridges and 3rd party inks? Do you find them to work out well for you? I mainly print banners and couldn't imagine working without them.

Before i went with a pro printer I had messed with pretty much every cis system on the market. The inks looked good, but if you didn't print almost everyday you fought constant clogs.i had this issue with both epson and hp printers. They are worth it if you do a ton of banners and can keep the system nice and clean

I use MIS Associates' 100% carbon inks for B&W.  Some of these are user-mixed (which MIS does not appreciate since they'd rather sell the dilute inks).  In general, the matte paper only Eboni-6 and Carbon-6 (user mixed version of Eboni-6) inks are the least likely to clog inksets I've used, probably because they don't have the binders in them that are needed for glossy inks to stick onto slick paper.  See http://www.paulroark.com/BW-Info/  for my index of information on the B&W inksets I use.  See http://www.aardenburg-imaging.com/ for comprehensive fade test information.  People might be surprised that some of the B&W carbon inksets can be not only the cheapest but also most ligthfast.
