Leaf back with Capture one not showing up when tethered. HELP!

So I have capture one pro 5.1.2 and a leaf aptus 17 back. When I connect the back to the macbook it doesn't recognize the back. Am I doing something wrong? I think it is supposed to recognize it right away.

In the Capture One menu, before connecting the back, go to Preferences>Capture and select the correct Camera type and then connect the back.

I've done that and even tried some other bodies and still didn't work...  Another get at Getdpi said it doesn't work with leaf backs unless you send them in to get updated to allow it.

In Capture One, go to the Capture One menu>Install Leaf Drivers and 4 seconds later the back will connect to the software

It was my understand too, that all older Leaf backs were not compatible with Capture 5 Pro unless they had been sent back to service for an firmware update for a charge.

AI know that ll new Leaf Aptus II camera backs work right out of the box with Capture One 5 Pro. You have to select which one you are using and it will load a driver if it is not up to date.

Correction:

Doug Petersen, Technical Manager for Capture Integration has pointed out to me that Capture One DB and Capture One Pro 5 now support the new Aptus II camera backs, and many of the older Aptus backs that had the original firmware. So that now means I was incorrect in stating that only currently  Aptus II backs are supported in my last post regarding this thread. This has changed since the Leaf Dealer meeting earlier this year where I based my information on.

So there you have it. Use most all Aptus and Aptus Ii backs in Leaf Capture or Capture One DB or Pro.
