The man tells me that they are shipping the H4D-60, and he will have one for demo on Monday, but there is a 3 month backlog!

I have been told I need to wait for a year for delivery. Still waiting for an upgrade offer towards the H4D60 + 35-90 (like the promotion this spring) for my CF39. If this is indicative for the waiting period for the H4D60 it might very well be a year

Hopefully production gets up to speed quickly.

so let me get this right - Hasselblad are now shipping the 60Mp back -

is this the H3D-60 they announced in September 2008?
or the H4D-60 that they announced in September 2009?

so it took them either one or two years to deliver the product, depending if you count vaporware announcements.
seems like a company worth trusting.

Phase P65+ has been shipping since November 2008.

Well it is the h4D-60, but as far as I know a h3d-60 never shipped, so yes we are getting a product now, which was announced 2 years ago. And people are complaining about Leica ^^

You should apply for a Dalailama position, that kind of patience speaks highly about your Buddhist skills. That is of course assuming you need the camera for some photographic applications.

Cheers,

To be fair the P65+ didn't ship in large quantities until January 2009.

What do you mean by large quantities? How many P65+ backs have been shipped in the USA, EU, or world wide?

Phase had first rights on the 60mp Dalsa chip
, I think it was one year ahead of Hasselblad?

¿Does that mean that Hasselblad are now technologically a year ahead of Phase?

Good question and they are using the same Dalsa chip. Except that Phase has sensor plus with the 65+ back.

I don't think Phase One's exclusive rights are referring to the actual 60MP Dalsa chip, but to the "sensor plus" type chip. At least also Leaf came out with their 56MP back shortly after the launch of the P65+... though it is of course a slightly different sensor (3:2 format).
