It works well for me.

My one trip to Tuscany was in April a few years ago, and I was struck by the amount of haze almost every day. The man parked in the tiny bit of shade looks perfectly comfortable. Nice shot.

Here's another one from the same holidays, but from a trip into the mountains.
Harsh light again ...

That midday light is a killer. The first shot is the better of the two, imo, but the composition is too loose. I would have liked to see you either go in tighter on the guy sitting at the table or on the trees to the left with the interesting landscape behind them.

I don't usually comment on these things, but I do think colour would have made all the difference, and in a positive way.

I never thought of Tuscany as being so harsh - all the pics I associate with it are indeed misty, but rolling green hills, furrowed farmland and strategically placed Van Gogh trees dodging winding roads...

That's what you get for daring to be different!

I have to agree.  looking over them you see something missing. Even as mentioned the composition framing is a bit 1 dimentional, but the images look like they have something to say, but can't say it (if that makes sense)...and perhaps most importantly with "Tuscany" as the theme, its the color.  Regarding composition, the second 2 are strongest.
....Mind you I am a BW lover

cheers!

this maybe better.  The last one has decent composition, It would be nice if the grain was a little less harsh(film! ha!). the second to last/field, could be very nice, I love the light of it.... the soil area is drawing much attention...it does give a nice candid feel.
These are nice out of the camera. the lack of an editing eye gives it a sense of nice travel documentary style imagery.
