Err CF On a Canon 5D Mark II
« on: June 18, 2010, 11:35:45 pm »

Today I rented a 5D Mark II and was excited to use it this weekend. It came with a 16gb and a 8gb card. On either card I am getting the Err CF message. I know it has something to do with the CF card, but I cant get it to work. I would really like to find out tonite what I am doing wrong if anything so that I can start shooting very early tomorrow morning. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Have you tried formatting them in-camera?

Can the cards be accessed through an external card reader?

Have you tried any other CF cards to see if they work?

Trying to find out if it's the camera or the cards.

Also check the pins for the card reader. Damaged pins can also create CF error messages. And if formatting with a computer(FAT), don't forget to reformat with the camera.
