LR 3 ignores custom camera profiles
« on: June 17, 2010, 10:42:46 am »

LR 3 seems to ignore custom camera profiles created with Adobe DNG Profile Editor.  ACR on the other hand sees and uses them without a problem.  On top of this, my desktop installation of LR sees and uses them just fine, it is only my laptop that has "issues".  Both computers are running Win 7 64-bit, PS-CS4 etc.
Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

LR 3 ignores custom camera profiles

Hi Mark, that's weird. Did you make sure that you quit & restarted the LR 3 app after you finished making the profile? (ACR will find the newly-installed profile automatically, even without closing the ACR dialog, but with LR at present you'll need to quit the app and relaunch it.)

Thanks for your reply, Eric.  I restarted LR several times... no difference.  Finally rebooted laptop, and it now seems to be fixed.  Weird!

Strange.

I don't know if it would be of any help, but X-Rite have a free DNG Profile manager application which shows you  a few things about all your DNG profiles including of course the X-Rite Passport generated profiles.

You have to be registered on the X-Rite site  first. It does show  all mine. The DNG (Adobe) created profiles are in LR3 too. I'm on a Mac though.
