Bag For Mamiya RZ system
« on: June 15, 2010, 09:32:05 pm »

Ok, so I made the leap to MF film. I have an ok bag for my DSLR setup, but i need a safe place to keep and carry my MF film camera. For reference I have a RZ67II, 3 120/220 backs, 1 polaroid back, the 100-200 zoom and the 65 prime. No AE prism (yet), and I will likely try to get rid of the zoom in favor of a few other primes (the damn thing is SO FREAKING HEAVY).

Any advice would be absolutely welcome. The bag should definitely be able to be carried on flights.

Thanks!
Justin

Sounds like a good option, but I am a bit worried About the feasibility of taking it on a hike, whether around central park or the cascades.

Thanks for the input!

I have a Lowepro Nature Trekker AW that is going on 8 years now and hasn't lost a stitch, I had the zipper replaced last year though due to overloading it with too much gear. However it did hold my Canon 5D and 2 lenses, RZ67 and two lenses, two film backs and still had room for accessories, pocket wizards etc. but alas that is why the zipper eventually gave up. I had great trust in the bag though and over the 8 years have taken it through a lot of beating bush hikes and a lot of snowboarding, and still use it today.

Lowepro make two bigger bags, the Pro Trekker AWII and the Super Trekker AWII

Also when I first got my RZ67 I was hell bent on buying an AE Prism Finder for it but never found a good deal on one, and I'm glad as composing images using the WLF is a beautiful thing, and the AE Prism adds a lot of bulk to your gear, I went with a Sekonic 558 for metering.
