Printing Notecards from LR3 on 3880
« on: June 13, 2010, 07:51:13 pm »

i just got some Museo large card stock (7 3/8 x11)

i want a full bleed 5 1/2 x 73/8 image

the printer software doesn't seem to allow borderless printing on custom paper size and if i try to trick it by putting the image in the corner of an 8 1/2 x 11 layout the printer senses the paper isn't 8 1/2 wide and gives an error message

suggestions?

As you've already observed, the 3800 does allow borderless but only specific preset sizes (not custom sizes). Unfortunately I don't know of a workaround. I believe the minimum margin is about 0.12".

I ordered several sizes of the Museo cards in boxed sets then spent some time getting the borders just right. The first thing I did was cut a dozen sheets of cheaper matte paper off a roll the exact same size as the cards. I made the top ,left and right border about 3/16 and the bottom about 5/8". My title of each photo was then inserted in the larger bottom border. Those cards are about $1.00 each so using some cheaper photo paper for setup worked well in this case.
