In addition to the other things I carry on my belt I also have a Maglite Mini-Mag flashlight, but I've seen people wandering around the local wooded parks using a cell phone for a flashlight. In that situation, this app makes sense. It will turn your iPhone screen white, or red, or...

My HTC HD2's flashlight app just turns the flash leds on solid. Since they are about super nova bright (but tiny) this works well.
